What is a BBL?
A Brazilian butt lift reshapes the buttocks using your own fat: it is harvested by liposuction from the abdomen, flanks or thighs, purified, and then transferred into the gluteal area. Because the fat comes from elsewhere on your body, the waist is contoured at the same time, which is a large part of the visual effect. A proportion of the transferred fat does not survive, so surgeons plan for that from the outset.

Are you a candidate?
A BBL requires enough donor fat to harvest — very lean patients are often not good candidates — along with stable weight and good general health. Safety depends heavily on technique and on where the fat is placed, so it should only be done by an experienced surgeon in a properly equipped hospital. How many days do I need to stay in Turkey?+
Usually 7 to 10 days, with all transfers included. An English-speaking coordinator is with you throughout your stay, and your surgeon confirms the exact length once your plan is set.
How long before I can sit normally?+
Pressure on the buttocks has to be avoided in the early weeks so the transferred fat can establish its blood supply. Expect to sleep on your front or side and to use a special cushion when sitting for roughly the first two to six weeks, as directed by your surgeon.
How much of the transferred fat lasts?+
Not all of it. A proportion is reabsorbed over the first few months, which is why surgeons transfer more than the final target volume. What remains after around three to six months is generally lasting, provided your weight stays stable.
